What is it?
Line Editing takes a sentence-by sentence approach to improving your readability, pace, and style. It targets POV, tense, flow, ease of reading, showing vs telling, use of adverbs, and the specific strengths and weaknesses in your prose.
Copy Editing focuses on things such as grammar, word usage, repetition, dialogue tags, and many other mechanical aspects of producing a polished story.
Together, Line & Copy Editing provides the professional polish your story needs in order to ensure that readers and agents fall in love with your world rather than trip over the wording.
What do you get?
- A highly detailed Annotated Manuscript, which is a version of your manuscript that contains both comments and specific edits in an easy-to-track format, ready for you to review at your leisure.
- The chance to talk to me about your concerns, style, voice, and choices. Detailed explanations for every type of suggested edit, and the chance to debate alternative solutions if the original doesn’t work for you.
- At least one re-read of your edited new draft.
