The Indie Package

The Indie Package

What is it?

The Indie Package is your one-stop-shop if you’re thinking of independently publishing your novel and need it to be a great read with proper polish, while still keeping a sensible budget.

The Indie Package covers:

  • Developmental Deal-breakers: Plot holes, pacing, and inconsistencies that would have a dramatic impact on how enjoyable your book is.
  • Vital Line Editing: Word usage, spelling & grammar, dialogue, and other line-by-line corrections that will improve flow and significantly enhance reader experience.
  • Essential Self-promotion Tools: Your book blurb and advertisement copy.

The Indie Package does not cover:

  • In-depth developmental edits such as character arcs, standard genre beats, emotional arcs, subtext, etc. For these, a full Developmental Edit is required.
  • Significant changes to style & voice, as well as perfectionist Line Editing improvements. For these, a full Line Edit is required.

What do you get?

  • An Annotated Manuscript, which is a version of your manuscript that contains suggested corrections and comments.
  • A blurb edit, including a developmental pass and a line pass on your blurb for the back of the book, Amazon description, etc.
  • An ad edit, including two passes on a brief pitch of your book designed for advertisements, Twitter, etc.
  • The chance to talk to me about your concerns, style, voice, and choices. Detailed explanations for every type of suggested edit, and the chance to debate alternative solutions if the original doesn’t work for you.
  • At least one re-read of your edited new draft.

Alex is highly respected in the writing community, and I had my mind set on working with her on my most recent release, The Girls of Songwood. From our initial conversation about the book, she was always pleasant and no-nonsense, making herself readily available, and offering great advice throughout the editing process. Alex helped me fine-tune and improve the quality of my book in many ways. Her feedback and edits were on point, and in sync with my vision. It was a pleasure to work with her.
